Curt Manufacturing 13514 Class III Receiver
Description
All CURT hitches feature WeatherTite construction, which prevents rusting from the inside out by sealing the main body of the hitch. The receiver tube has an open back end to allow for easy cleaning and for dirt and moisture to pass through and not get trapped as is common with other brands of hitches. All CURT hitches come with mounting hardware and installation instructions. CURT is the only hitch company in the industry that mechanically de-scales all of our hitches before applying a thick powder coat finish, which is baked on for a high-gloss, smooth surface. CURT trailer hitches are simply the most attractive, most durable and toughest hitch on the market. You won’t find better quality and value anywhere!

- A title, seriously? Is this going in a magazine?
I installed a 13514 on a 2010 Xterra today. It is obviously well made, although I skinned a good amount of paint off the end flanges getting it on.
The instruction sheet doesn't give itself enough credit. When you look at where the hitch it supposed to go, it doesn't look like you ought to need to take the exhaust hanger off. They should have added something like "we aren't kidding" to the illustration. It has to go straight in, over the exhaust. On the '10, with the hanger disconnected, I still had to hammer a block of wood in to wedge the exhaust down far enough to get the hitch over it. If you've got a helper you can skip that step.
The bolts that hold the bumper on were pretty tight, I used an electric impact wrench with deep sockets to get them loose.
The factory bolts have the last 1/4" or so of threads rolled down in such a way that you might think you stripped them off, so don't panic when you get the first one out.
By the way, if you're trying to figure out much drop you need on your ball mount, it might help to know that on the Standard 4x4 xterra S model with stock tires, the top of the receiver will sit almost exactly 19" from the ground.
so anyway, if you're worried about rust, you might tape off some of the exposed spots on the hitch before you go to work. Other than that, its very nice. I like the step, the welds are impossibly good.
